Supplements To Lower Cholesterol Levels

Any tips on losing weight?
Hey all!
I’m overweight, obese by BMI standards – I’m 5′2″ and I think somewhere around 190lbs / 13 stone or the like. I recently had some blood test results and my sugar level is fine and good but my cholesterol is a bit high – it’s still in the healthy range, but higher than it should be.
I’ve cut snacking and soda out of my diet and have started eating healthier foods as well as supplementing with Vit-C, Cod Liver Oil and Garlic tablets for my heart and joints.
I’ve recently bought an exercise bike and have started using it for 30 minutes a day (which my body can cope with fine) with stretching before and after, which according to the bike computer burns around 100-105 calories per 30 minutes.
I’ve also ordered some 1kg dumbbells to strengthen my arms up a bit with some gentle weightlifting.
Any tips on how to improve my every day lifestyle even more and/or exercise regime to lose some weight, lower my cholesterol and get healthy?
Thanks!
Well it sounds like you started off really well and deserve a pat on the back! Once you’ve built up your fitness with the bike you might want to try some light jogging/running to add a bit of variety. I lost a lot of weight through running (even though I hated it at school). I signed up for a fun run so I had a goal to work towards and train for. Before I knew it I was running half marathons and was the fittest I’d ever been!
In terms of your diet eat plenty of fibre and lean protein. Benecol and flora proactive are both proven to reduce cholesterol so it’s worth giving one them a try in place of normal spreads/yoghurts etc.
Well done on getting yourself started – that’s the hardest part.
