Lower Ldl Cholesterol Foods

How can i rise my HDL (good cholesterol).?
Hi, I’m male, 35 years old, 5′ 5″, 150 ponds, i work out 2 or 3 times a week, and i used to eat a lot of junk food.
I was diagnosed high cholesterol 3 months ago. I didn’t want to take any medication and instead i started with low (almost non) fat, low cholesterol, plenty of fish and vegetables diet and i dropped 22 points of LDL but my HDL went from 38 to 39 (absolutely no improvement).
The doctor want me to take “LOVASTATIN” but i’ve read a lot of bad reviews about secondary effects and stuff.
Any recomendations on how rise my HDL without drugs.
